Acceptable use policy

WebValet is built for people who want their own websites to work better. These rules keep the free audit free, keep the service fast for everyone and keep us out of trouble. Breaking them can lead to suspension under the Terms of service.

01

The free audit

  • You may audit any publicly reachable website. The limit is 3 audits per visitor per day; results are cached for 7 days per domain.
  • Do not script, automate or bulk-run audits, bypass Turnstile or the rate limit, or scrape teardown pages.
  • Do not use audits to harass a company or person, or to publish misleading comparisons.
02

Sites you monitor

  • Add only sites you own or are authorised to manage. Agencies must have their client's permission and are responsible for it.
  • Competitor watch reads public pages only, at a polite rate. Do not use it to copy competitors' content, scrape personal data or overload their servers.
  • Do not add sites that host illegal content, malware, phishing or material that infringes others' rights.
03

Autopilot and connected accounts

  • Connect only accounts you control (WordPress, Cloudflare, Webflow, Shopify, Google).
  • Do not use Autopilot to publish deceptive metadata, keyword stuffing, cloaking or anything that violates search engine guidelines. Our fix rules refuse obvious cases; you are responsible for the rest.
  • Keep your connected credentials secure and rotate them if you suspect misuse.
04

AI features

  • Ask WebValet, rewrites, briefs and persona reviews are for improving your own site. Do not use them to generate spam, mass content for link schemes, or content that impersonates others.
  • Review AI output before publishing. You are the publisher.
  • Do not attempt to extract system prompts, probe or attack the models, or use the features to produce illegal content.
05

General

  • No reverse engineering, reselling, or building a competing service with our data or interface.
  • No sharing accounts; Agency seats are per person.
  • No attempts to access other users' data, interfere with the service, or evade limits.
  • Follow the laws that apply to you, including data protection law for your visitors' data.
06

Reporting abuse

If you believe someone is using WebValet against these rules, or if your site is being audited or monitored in a way you object to, email abuse@webvalet.app. Site owners can block our crawler by disallowing WebValetBot in robots.txt; we honour it for monitoring (the free audit still reads the single page you point it at).
